3 Day Cleanse Review

Did Summer get you too? 

After way too much eating, drinking, and traveling I felt like a tick. Swollen and puffy and knew that I had to get my diet in check. I hate using the word diet because it conjurs up so many negative thoughts, but by diet I really mean eating healthy again. I needed to focus on getting rid of sugar, processed foods and last but definitely not least alcohol and the best way for me to do that is with the 3 day refresh.

The 3 Day Refresh is exactly what the name sounds like, it’s a 3 day cleanse, that you act
ually get to still eat REAL food while cleaning out our bodies, no crazy running to the bathroom type of cleanse.. LOL! You still eat and you see results quickly, that is my type of program! Here is a review of my last 3 days:

Day 1

Tuesday Morning: Boom I head on down to the kitchen and thats when I realized this might be more challenging than I thought… Normally I have a shake every single morning so that isn’t the hard part.

It just meant that I was going to have it without my go to coconut milk and peanut butter and boy was I craving that Reese’s Shake this morning! But, I put my big girl panties and sucked it up, literally. And you know what? it still tasted good. A couple extra ice cubes, and I barely noticed.

The morning went pretty much like any other Tuesday, I headed off to teach Body Pump at the gym a
nd then back home to work.

Laughter and giggles ensue…….ok there might have been a little of “how can you drink that stuff??” coming from her, but honestly I don’t mind the taste. The texture is probably the toughest part as it thickens quickly, but I have certainly had worse.

Lunch Time: Don’t worry! I am NOT going to bore you with all the details of every single meal through all this, I’ve taken photos if you care to see, but just going to give you my review on the vanilla shake that you have with your meals for both lunch and dinner. Now let me just start by saying that I am a chocolate kind of shake girl. Vanilla can be too sweet for me and this one is no exception. You can certainly add your portion of fruit to it, but I choose to eat my fruit 🙂 I do doctor it up with cinnamon and it helps tremendously.

Dinner Time: Comes and goes……. I must say, I LOVE the recipes that come with this program like the coconut veggie stir fry! I am NOT going to lie though, I would have
killed for a snack especially when my husband walks down with a FULL bag of gourmet chocolate chip cookies? Are YOU KIDDING ME??????

I am VERY proud to say that I did NOT have one, and yes we are speaking again lol. I went to bed and thanked God that I made it through day 1.

Day 2

Today was more challenging. I was definitely feeling the withdrawal from all the garbage I had been putting in to my body. I just felt off. Definitely mVeggies_Day1_stirfry_dinnerore tired and thirstier… if there is such a word. This was a good thing as I was flushing some of the toxins out of my body. The up side I was not hungry! I taught Body Pump again that night and was nervous I might not have the energy, but even though I was tired, my workout did not suffer one bit.
If anything I actually felt a little stronger.

I slept like a baby. My head hit the pillow and I was out like a light. It was the best sleep I have had in weeks and even woke up before the alarm. I didn’t even get up to go to the bathroom…… NOW THAT IS A RECORD!

 

 

Day 3

I woke up feeling much more energetic and was ready to crush the day. In my mind I was already thinking that I can do this. I will do this!

I lost track of time and almost missed the mid morning fiber sweep so had to adjust for lunch, but did a 1 hour plyometric workout followed by 1/2 hour of yoga late afternoon. Felt great!!!

Dinner came and I was pleasantly surprised that I was full and truly had no cravings for anything afterwards… SUCCESS!

I did get up twice during the night to go the bathroom but fell right back to sleep both times. Again usually once I am up, it is tough to fall back to sleep.

Day 4

BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT COUNTS RIGHT? I woke up this morning excited and nervous. Excited because I really did feel good. Nervous because it still did matter about what the scale and tape measure said.

I took on the scale, took a deep breath, and looked down. 5.4 lbs down!!! I told you I felt like a swollen tick. The tape measure showed I had lost a total of 2 inches off my waist and abdomen area. WHAT!!! SUCCESS!!!

5.4 lbs and 2 inches off my waist… This program is simply amazing! What it reminded me, how incredible REAL nutrition is!
