So now that the closet is officially done, now I’m left with the dilemma of what to do with all the clothes that no longer suit me, bring me joy or fit or are even in style. So my question to all of you is what are you: Are you a bag person? Or Are you a box person?
And yes, it does relate to our health because think about what we eat on a daily basis. Are you someone who eats from a bag or eats from a box? Because if you are either of those two things, one of my tips this week for you for spring cleaning your health and spring cleaning your eating would be to lose the bag or the box.
For an example, a snack in the middle of the afternoon: Do you tend to reach for the bag of pretzels or cookies? For breakfast do you tend to reach for the box of cereal? Or maybe even as a snack do you tend to reach for a box of crackers?
Those things are all processed and one of the things that I learned years ago that I really started getting into nutrition and health, even more so with my certification as a nutritional therapist is that we need to eat clean, whole, unprocessed foods.
And so many people will ask me all the time, “Jill, what the heck does clean mean?” Well, it’s a great question. But basically clean means eating a one-ingredient type of food. For example, an egg. It’s one ingredient. A piece of beef, chicken or fish. A vegetable, a potato. One ingredient.
Whereas when we go to start to grab things out of bags and boxes we’re adding chemicals in our body.
So my challenge to you today and this week is to see if you can go one week without grabbing anything from a bag or box. Because it will be challenging, but it’s the chemicals that cause so much damage in our damage in our bodies. It’s the processed food that causes too much damage to our health.
So let me know in the comments, are you a bag or a box kind of a person?
I’m about to try and decide how many bags I need to get rid of all this stuff as I continue to spring clean 😉 But I hope that tip helped. Spring clean your health just a little bit! Lose the bag, lose the boxes and have a great day!
xoxo,
