Why It’s Not Always About The Number On The Scale

Hey Gang! Jill here. Happy Friday! You know, it’s the weekend and those of us that have been struggling with our weight loss or just getting healthier and trying to make a difference in our health—I just wanted to share something with you today:

It’s not always about the numbers on the scale.

And this is why I do what I do. This is why I love what I do. This is why I’m passionate. This is why no matter what the naysayers say to me, I’m never going to stop doing what I do.

For the first time, a woman went and felt comfortable enough buying a pair of white jeans. It had nothing to do with the number on the scale. It had to do with inch loss, the confidence she had within herself. That’s a HUGE win.

Someone has gone 7 full days no processed food whatsoever. has two boys, one eating so much healthier because his mom is. It’s not measured on a scale, there’s no number that goes with it. That’s priceless. That’s a HUGE win.

A husband that can’t believe he can eat so much food filling silly containers full of food. HUGE win.

A woman who is confident enough to write her story down and have the courage to send it out to be published. HUGE. You cannot put a value on that.

So I say to each and every one of you out there working on your health or wanting to work on your health. It’s not always about the number on the scale. It’s sometimes on a day like today, a gray dreary day here in New England. Sometimes it’s the small things that are the big wins. That make the huge, huge difference.

Because to me as long as I’m getting comments like this. That someone bought a pair of white jeans for the first time in her life and feels comfortable enough wearing them. That is why I do what I do.

So if you or anyone out there are struggling, please share this with them. Because we get so caught up on numbers. WE really do. And for some that might be important. But sometimes you need to find those other wins. Because those wins are priceless.

I hope you have an awesome, awesome weekend.  Look for those wins. You deserve them. And I will never stop fighting for the women looking to get comfortable in white jeans. Never stop fighting for the women who want to become confident enough to be able to share their stories and not be ashamed of who and what they are. Because we all matter. Every single one of us has a story to tell ❤
