What Does Healthy Really Look Like?

Hey, everyone! Jill Here 🙂

I just wanted to pop in really quick with something that came up especially today as I was at the hair salon. And that is, what does healthy look like?

You know, going through cancer twice now and being that cancer advocate, I feel like even though you don’t always feel good on the inside, which is what cancer does to so many of us. We don’t always feel good inside.  A lot of time we feel really crappy. But then people will say oh but you look so good! And it got me thinking today because I got that comment twice today.

So what does healthy really look like? What does healthy feel like?

How Do You Get Out Of A Funk?

Hey, everybody! Just thought I’d pop in really quick with a couple of tips on what to do when you’re in a funk. Because I think this time of year, a lot of people start to get into one. Are struggles with reigning in your health and fitness starting to frustrate you?
If so, you’re definitely not alone! Trust me, I’ve been there and so have many others that I’ve worked with as a personal trainer and coach over the years.
Health and fitness have both helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life, including battling the dreaded “C” word TWICE. And it wasn’t until I started incorporating proper nutrition and at least 30 minutes of fitness into my daily routine that I started to truly discover my confidence, strength and what I was capable of. Which is why I’m so passionate about helping others do the same.

Hey Gang! Happy Friday!

Would you do me one favor today? Just go out and brighten someone else’s day. And it doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. I just finished teaching a cycling class and boy, did they make my day! We smiled, we laughed, we joked with one another. It was just the connection of being with someone else that made it so special. So for those in my class, thank you! It was awesome!

Can Food Affect Your Mood and Emotions?

Hey Gang!

So something came up this week in our spin class that I thought we could all benefit from. It was one of those mornings when I think a lot of people were feeling the effects from the long weekend. We all tend to overindulge on weekends right? So with the Memorial Day weekend, it tended to be a little bit longer. And the thing is the food we eat can affect our mood and emotions for up to 48 and sometimes even 72 hours after the fact. Isn’t that nuts?
