3 Day Cleanse Review

Did Summer get you too?

After way too much eating, drinking, and traveling I felt like a tick. Swollen and puffy and knew that I had to get my diet in check. I hate using the word diet because it conjurs up so many negative thoughts, but by diet I really mean eating healthy again. I needed to focus on getting rid of sugar, processed foods and last but definitely not least alcohol and the best way for me to do that is with the 3 day refresh.

The 3 Day Refresh is exactly what the name sounds like, it’s a 3 day cleanse, that you act
ually get to still eat REAL food while cleaning out our bodies, no crazy running to the bathroom type of cleanse.. LOL! You still eat and you see results quickly, that is my type of program! Here is a review of my last 3 days:

The Importance of Putting Yourself First

Have you ever felt overwhelmed, to the point that you just don’t know what to do next? You don’t know where to turn, where to go to help yourself, to take care of you? Years ago this was me. After suffering years of sexual abuse, I was this invisible person that had no sense of self worth,  I believed that my voice didn’t matter, that I didn’t matter and my confidence was non existent.

I was in college an all time low in my life when I found exercise as a means of, for lack of a better word, escape initially. For that one hour in a fitness class I felt that I mattered, that I was important, that somebody cared about me. At the end of class there was always that vivacious instructor that would say have a great day, and made me feel good about who I was as a person. I went back day after day not for the exercise as much as it was for that feeling of acceptance, for someone believing that I was a somebody, a person! What The Doctor’s Don’t Tell You

YOU. HAVE. CANCER.

When I heard those 3 words, my world was turned upside down, I didn’t know what to think, what to do, where to start and it did not just affect me, it affected everyone around me!

There is so much information you need to know and so many things that people, caregivers, doctors are telling you all at once that it is truly overwhelming…  It is almost like a silent movie where people are speaking but you just can’t hear any sound.

There are so many things that I wish I had known then or even just thought to ask. I am writing this not to freak anyone of you reading this out, but rather just to hopefully educate and make you aware of some of the issues that so many of us faced when we heard those three words. This guide came to fruition with the help of many fellow pink sisters and my own personal journey through breast cancer. Continue reading “What The Doctor’s Don’t Tell You”

Age is just a number.. or IS IT?

June 6th eve of my going the speed limit birthday (I’ll leave you to do the math), I started to ponder this statement….Age is just a number.  I mean come on, I probably say it on average of at least 3-5x week with clients and participants in my classes.  The kicker here is though as I approach this lovely number, I find myself wondering is it really just a number?

My grandmother was 69 years old when she began exercising and was still doing aerobics with me late into her 70s!  She first taught me that age IS just a number. Continue reading “Age is just a number.. or IS IT?”

I became a SURVIVOR

Did you ever stop and wonder who you really are, I mean like REALLY wonder?  Now just stay with me here for a sec, I promise you I haven’t totally lost all my marbles.  Admittedly a few are probably missing at this point from my years so far, but I promise you there are still plenty left to keep playing this game called life.

I am a fitness professional. I am a certified nutritional therapist. Do these things really define me?  If I were to look in the mirror am I nothing more than the person staring back at me?  Or am I something more?   And this got me to really thinking:

What if we were more than just what we see in the mirrors?  Better yet, what if we BELIEVED we were more than just what we see we are? Continue reading “I became a SURVIVOR”

The Ultimate Reset Gave Me My Life Back

Love yourself enough to NEVER lower your standards for anyone! And that includes never lowering them for yourself either.

WELL… let me just say that this statement hit home. (visualize a baseball being thrown into your front living room window and glass going everywhere kind of hit) For soooooooo many years, I set the bar about my health and fitness journey up there with an athlete because I believed I was worth more than how others had treated me and my body growing up. I was going to show them!
